SK Holdings Company Ltd. Domain Registration Center scam / spam email

Last night, we received a message from Lily Chen - someone who says they’re going to try to use our domain name in China, etc. or poses as a registrar just trying to get us to contact them to have those domain names secured through their company, etc. It sounds pretty vague and shady.

After spending a few min on research it turns out that it’s poorly designed and SPAM email Made in China :) and it can be safely ignored and deleted.

Here’s the body of message:

  6. Dear all:
Best advice is to make your domain register private to keep your contact data from preying eyes, ask so to your domain registrar (Network Solutions is a good choice).
This is the second stuff alike I receive. The first time I was unwise enough to answer the request and state we had no branches nor had authorized any such registrations. Then in their reply they turned really nasty look: (take note of the web, company, mail and name of such thieves)

    Dear Roberto,

Previously, we have discussed already on that the third party submitted their application of registering domain names on behalf of your company. Besides, I have given you the corresponding response to your replied email. But I have not received any your reply so far. I do not know if this means you have given up automatically and pass the application of registration for “Therms International Holdings Ltd”. If then, we will complete all the registration of “Therms International Holdings Ltd” after five work days and parse to the website they want us to point to.

We have informed you this matter and hence we will not bear any legal problems of your any intellectual property right and your trademark or the confusing to your website. If you have not considered if you want to register, please contact me within these 5 work days in time. Thanks!

We are an organization specified at dealing with domain name dispute and registration in Asia. We have something important on intellectual property right need to confirm with your company.

Today we received a formal application from a company called B2bmarketplace International, who applied to register "hrdconsultingmn " as their domain name in some countries and Network Trademark. During our preliminary investigation, we found that these domain names' keyword is identical with your trademark. I wonder whether you consigned B2bmarketplace International to register these domain names with us? Or is B2bmarketplace International your business partner or distributor in Asia?

Currently, we have already postponed this application of this company temporarily. Therefore please let the relevant person make a confirmation with me by telephone or email ASAP

  14. My advise to everyone. Make no contact with these people and ASAP make your domain registration "private". This costs only some bucks a year and your name and address won't be disclosed, hence this petty MFs won't be able to contact you. It is as weel important to highlite that they are trying to lure you into buying from them, so actually no reprisal will take effect since this means expense for them. Goog luck. Fend up this parasites.
